ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch revealed that on March 18, Pakistan executed an operation in the border region with Afghanistan based on intelligence reports.
The operation’s primary aim was to target terrorists associated with the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, notorious for numerous terrorist activities in Pakistan alongside the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
Baloch emphasized that the operation wasn’t directed against the Afghan populace, institutions, or the Afghan military. Pakistan maintains respect for Afghanistan’s territorial integrity and seeks collaborative efforts to combat terrorism, thereby preventing any terrorist outfit from sabotaging bilateral relations.
Furthermore, Baloch highlighted Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar’s participation in the Nuclear Energy Summit in Brussels, marking his inaugural foreign visit. This summit serves as a platform for nations utilizing nuclear energy to deliberate on cooperation initiatives.
During the summit, Minister Dar is set to discuss uninterrupted energy supply, explore cost-effective and eco-friendly energy sources, and share Pakistan’s extensive experience in nuclear power management, waste disposal, and non-proliferation efforts.
Additionally, the Foreign Minister will engage in dialogues regarding nuclear energy cooperation and assistance for developing nations, holding bilateral meetings with leaders from participating countries. Upon returning to Pakistan, he will further engage with British authorities in London.
The spokesperson pointed that Pakistan vehemently denounced the assault on Shifa Hospital in Palestine by Israel, labeling it a brazen violation of international law and humanitarian norms. The attack resulted in the tragic loss of over 100 innocent lives, including displaced Palestinians seeking refuge from Israeli aggression.
The deliberate targeting of civilians constitutes war crimes and gross violations of humanity. Pakistan demands an immediate end to the siege and calls for accountability for these atrocities.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch expressed Pakistan’s grave concerns over India’s crackdown on political parties in Indian Occupied Kashmir, with 14 organizations banned under the Anti-Terrorism Act. This oppressive measure aims to suppress Kashmiri aspirations for self-determination and solidify India’s illegal occupation in the region.
Pakistan reaffirms its unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and urges India to lift restrictions on political activities. Pakistan vows to continue its diplomatic and moral backing for the Kashmiri cause.
