ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has taken a step towards making entrepreneurship more accessible to women as the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) moves to simplify business processes, improve access to information and expand digital opportunities for women-owned enterprises.

Under Pakistan’s B-READY reform agenda, the reforms team, now spearheaded by SIFC, has collaborated with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) and the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to bring information about publicly funded programmes supporting women-owned small and medium enterprises (SMEs) online.
A key outcome of the initiative is the “SheCreates – Women Entrepreneurship Portal”, a centralised digital platform designed to help women entrepreneurs discover federal and provincial programmes, business initiatives, support schemes and mentorship opportunities.
The portal seeks to address longstanding challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, particularly complex procedures and limited access to information about available government support. By bringing relevant information together on a single digital platform, the initiative aims to make business facilitation more accessible, transparent and efficient.

SIFC, through its coordinated investor- and business-centric facilitation approach, is working with public-sector institutions to reduce procedural barriers and create a more enabling environment for entrepreneurship. The focus on women-owned SMEs is also aimed at increasing women’s participation in economic activity and unlocking their entrepreneurial potential.
The SheCreates Portal is expected to provide women entrepreneurs with easier access to information and opportunities to start, formalise and expand their businesses, while supporting the development of a more inclusive and digitally enabled business ecosystem.

SIFC said its facilitation-led reforms would contribute towards a more accessible business environment, stronger women-led enterprises and a more inclusive economic growth trajectory for Pakistan.
