ISLAMABAD:  In order to enhance research facilities in Pakistan, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved the Improvement of Academic Facilities at University of Karachi with an investment of Rs2,292 million.

According to the official social media account of the Ministry of Planning and Development, the CDWP has given approval to the “Improvement of Academic Facilities” at University of Karachi.

“Foster innovation”

It posted on its X account (formally known as Twitter), “CDWP approves the Improvement of Academic Facilities at University of Karachi (Revised) with an investment of Rs2,292 million. Modern labs will enhance research capacity, foster innovation, and contribute to economic growth!

Radio Pakistan reported that the CDWP has approved total six development projects worth 151 billion rupees in Higher Education, tourism and communications sector.

The approval was granted at a meeting of the party held in Islamabad with Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal in the chair.

The projects include Establishment of National Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Establishment of National Centre for manufacturing, Improvement of Academic Facilities at University of Karachi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Integrated Tourism Development Project and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Accessibility project.

Higher Education Commission

Addressing the meeting, the minister issued directives to the chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan to urgently devise a comprehensive and effective strategy to ensure educational and developmental opportunities for youth belonging to Balochistan.

Ahsan Iqbal reiterated the government’s resolve to the betterment of the youth and their bright future.
