RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Wednesday that Pakistan will field the same playing XI for the third and final Test against England, set to take place from October 24-28, 2024, at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
This decision follows Pakistan’s dominant 152-run victory in the second Test at Multan, which leveled the three-match series at 1-1.
The Rawalpindi pitch is expected to offer conditions favorable to spinners, much like the one in Multan. Pakistan’s unchanged lineup will once again feature a spin-heavy attack, including Sajid Khan, Noman Ali, and Zahid Mahmood. All-rounder Aamir Jamal will continue as the only pacer. With Shan Masood leading the side, the batting lineup will consist of Saim Ayub, Abdullah Shafique, Kamran Ghulam, and Saud Shakeel. Mohammad Rizwan will keep wicket.
On the other side, England has made two changes to their squad for the upcoming match, bringing in leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed and seamer Gus Atkinson. These moves reflect England’s adaptation to the spin-friendly conditions.
The third Test will serve as the series decider, and Pakistan hopes to carry their momentum from the second match into Rawalpindi.
