ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday started the export of camel milk powder to China, marking a significant step forward in the country’s efforts to diversify its agricultural exports, the Ministry of National Food Security and Research said in a statement.
The export initiative is being carried out in partnership with two Chinese firms, One HK Holding Ltd and Xi’an TUO ZHONG TUO Biotechnology Limited Company. The venture will open new avenues for Pakistan’s dairy sector in international markets.
Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain attended a ceremony in Lahore over the weekend to celebrate the milestone.
Speaking at the event, the minister said the launch of camel milk powder exports demonstrated the untapped potential of Pakistan’s agriculture and dairy industries.
“This achievement is not only a testament to our capabilities but also an inspiration for others to explore international collaboration in emerging sectors,” he said.
The minister noted that the establishment of the camel milk powder export venture had already created employment opportunities and would provide a major boost to the national economy.
He added that the initiative would position Pakistan as a competitive player in the specialised dairy products market.
Highlighting Pakistan’s growing footprint in global dairy exports, Rana Tanveer said the Pakistani company ELC Biotechnology had signed export agreements with the two Chinese companies involved.
The minister said that these partnerships would strengthen agricultural and trade cooperation between Pakistan and China, providing a new impetus to bilateral economic ties.
The event marked the beginning of a new trade route between Pakistan and China. It also underscored the increasing global demand for Pakistani dairy products, according to the ministry’s statement.
Rana Tanveer reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting innovative efforts that enhance exports, create jobs, and bolster the national economy.
