ISLAMABAD: While reiterating Pakistan’s support for Palestine, President Dr. Arif Alvi said Pakistan would continue unwavering support for the independence of occupied Palestinian territories against the oppression of Israel.

President Alvi said that Pakistan has historically and continuously supported the legitimate struggle of the freedom movement of the Palestinians and shall continue to do so.

While delivering the message on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, President Alvi said that a collective and strong voice with action could bring peace and security to the Palestinians.

Dr. Alvi has expressed hope that justice and fairness would prevail over tyranny and oppression, and He also hoped that the world’s conscience would overcome narrow self-interests.

President stated that Pakistan fully supports the Palestinian stance, their position, and their willingness to negotiate a peace accord based upon internationally recognized terms of reference and pre-1967 borders.

In the illegal fascist occupation of Palestine by Israel, innocent blood has been shed, and the bleeding of Palestinians has continued.

Dr. Alvi added that the two beyond-doubt realities of the conflict continue: Israeli violence against Palestinian people and the illegal occupation and oppression of Palestine by Israel.

President Dr. Alvi said that the most recent series of endless Israeli violence is visible in August this year when the Israeli bombing in the Gaza strip of Palestine resulted in the deaths of around 50 Palestinians, including 17 children, and 300 injured Palestinian people.

President Dr. Alvi said that recent Israeli actions to annex occupied Palestinian territories cannot alter the Israeli illegal annexation and occupation in the context of ‘international humanitarian law and international law.’

Dr. Alvi said the occupational forces could take control of the territory, but occupiers could not take control of the minds and spirit of the people in the occupied territory.

President Dr. Alvi added that the continued struggle of the Palestinian people for their self-determination and freedom will continue until they get the right to exercise their right to self-determination, and Pakistan will continue to stand with the Palestinian people and their cause. APP
