ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Jawad Sohrab Malik has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Saudi-based global conglomerate Al-Bawani Holdings to enhance employment opportunities for Pakistani workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
During his visit to the Al-Bawani Holdings headquarters in Riyadh, Malik received a warm welcome from Engr. Fakher Al-Shawaf, the CEO, and Chairman of Al Bawani Holdings. The PM special aide was accompanied by Ambassador Ahmad Farooq, Community Welfare Attache, DG Emigration Akram Khawaja, and Joint Secretary Emigration Aurangzeb.
Pakistani Workers Competence
Al-Bawani Holdings, a diversified Saudi conglomerate, ranks among the top five general contracting entities in the construction sector. With an extensive portfolio of completing approximately 250 projects in Saudi Arabia and engaged in worldwide projects valued at billions of dollars, the company briefed SAPM Malik on its ongoing projects during the visit.
Recognizing the competence of Pakistani workers, Malik conveyed to the company Chairman that the Pakistani workforce is well-trained and possesses the necessary skills for construction work in KSA.
This acknowledgment resulted in a significant development – the signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) between the Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC) and Al Bawani. The LOI establishes a legal framework for cooperation and coordination, unlocking numerous job opportunities for Pakistani professionals and workers in the construction sector.
