ISLAMABAD: Seven family members, including three women and two children, were killed over a property dispute in the Pakpattan district of Pakistan’s Punjab province, local media reported on Saturday.
According to the local media reports, the accused, Sarwar, killed two of his brothers, sister-in-law, and their children.
DPO Pakpattan Hasan Iqbal immediately reached the spot and formed a team to nab the accused. Rescue 1122 officials shifted the dead bodies to a nearby hospital in Pakpattan.
Taking notice of the murders, Inspector General Punjab Usman Anwar ordered RPO Sahiwal to submit a report on the incident and directed DPO Pakpattan to form a special team to nab the accused as soon as possible.
He ordered the accused and his accomplices to be immediately arrested and brought to justice. He added that the accused would be punished, and justice would be ensured for the victims’ families.
Violence over property disputes in Pakpattan
Last year, five people were killed in an exchange of fire over a property dispute between uncles and nephews in the Tangi Khattak area of Nowshera Kalan police station.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Tangi Khattak leader Wajid Ali, his brother Nawab Ali Khan and Adil Khan, and his brother Sohail Khan lost their lives in the firing. At the same time, Israr Khan, 30, from the other side, also could not survive and lost his life.
The rescue team took the bodies to Qazi Complex and District Headquarters Hospital. The Kalan police registered cases on the reports of the parties in the hospitals.
