Pakistan Set 244-Run Target Against India in World Championship of Legends

BIRMINGHAM: With a solid opening partnership, Pakistan set a record 244-run target for India after being put into bat first in the inaugural World Championship of Legends at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.

Openers Kamran Akmal and Sharjeel Khan provided a formidable start, forging a partnership of 145 runs in just 11 overs. Sharjeel was particularly aggressive, smashing a quickfire 72 off 30 balls, including seven fours and five sixes. Kamran Akmal complemented him well with a brisk 77 off 40 deliveries before falling to Pawan Negi in the 14th over.

Following their departure, Shoaib Maqsood took charge and added to the momentum with a powerful innings, scoring 51 off 26 balls, which included five sixes and two fours. However, Shahid Afridi was dismissed for a golden duck, while Shoaib Malik remained unbeaten on 25 off 18 balls.

Pakistan posted a challenging total of 244 runs for India to chase in their allotted overs.
