ISLAMABAD: In a compassionate response to the ongoing crisis in Gaza, Pakistan dispatched a plane carrying essential relief supplies, including tents, blankets, and medicines, to aid the war-affected population in the region.

The relief plane successfully landed in Egypt and will serve as a conduit for delivering the humanitarian aid to the beleaguered people of Gaza.

The situation in Gaza has grown increasingly dire, with a significant loss of life resulting from Israeli strikes since October 7. At least 3,785 Palestinians have lost their lives in these strikes, prompting international concern and humanitarian efforts to provide aid and support.

The chartered aircraft, carrying an impressive 100 tons of vital medical supplies and humanitarian aid, took off from Islamabad, Pakistan, bound for Egypt. This relief mission represents Pakistan’s commitment to alleviating the suffering of those affected by the conflict.

Upon landing at El Arish in Egypt, the supplies were officially handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent by Pakistani Envoy Sajid Bilal. These essential goods will then be transported from Egypt to Gaza, where they are expected to make a significant difference in providing relief to the affected population.

Pakistan is actively engaged in diplomatic efforts to address the crisis in Gaza and promote peace in the region. Pakistan urged the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to play a pivotal role in achieving a ceasefire in Gaza. This call for action aligns with Pakistan’s support for the joint communique released by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) following an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee on Palestine held in Jeddah.

The ongoing debate at the United Nations Security Council has generated disappointment in Pakistan. The nation believes that the UNSC should assume its designated role in bringing an immediate end to the ongoing situation and bombardment in Gaza. Pakistan’s humanitarian assistance, along with its diplomatic efforts, reflects the country’s commitment to supporting the people of Gaza during these challenging times.
