ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Thursday dispatched another consignment of humanitarian aid to Gaza, reaffirming its continued commitment to supporting the Palestinian people amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) sent the consignment of relief goods under the directives of the Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

A chartered flight carrying the relief consignment departed from Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, to Egypt for onward delivery to Gaza.

With the dispatch of this latest shipment, the total volume of humanitarian assistance sent to Palestine from Pakistan has reached 2,827 tons across twenty-nine consignments.

The sending-off ceremony was attended by senior officials from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and representatives of other relevant government departments.

The people of Pakistan stand in steadfast solidarity with the people of Palestine during this challenging time and will continue to make every possible effort to support them and help meet their urgent humanitarian needs.

According to the Gaza health ministry, at least 72,045 Palestinians have been killed in the Israeli military offensive in Gaza since October 2023.

Ceasefire violations

Despite the ceasefire announced in October, violence has continued in Gaza. On Wednesday, a Palestinian child was wounded by Israeli gunfire in the Batn as-Sameen area south of Khan Younis, the official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported, citing medical sources.

Israeli air strikes and artillery shelling also targeted areas east of Khan Younis, according to local journalists.

At least seven Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on Tuesday, including three in central Gaza and one north of Khan Younis, Palestinian officials said.

The Gaza Government Media Office said 591 Palestinians have been killed and 1,578 injured since the ceasefire took effect.

It accused Israel of committing more than 1,600 violations of the truce between October 10, 2025, and February 10, 2026. Israel has not publicly responded to those specific figures.
