ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is seeking to bring in a third team after Afghanistan pulled out of the upcoming T20 tri-nation cricket series that was set to feature Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan in November.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that the series — scheduled from November 17 to 29 — will proceed as planned, with Sri Lanka remaining a participant. A PCB spokesperson told local media that officials were in talks to invite another country to fill the vacant slot so that “the event continues smoothly and logistical arrangements remain intact.”

According to reports, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) informed the PCB that it would not be able to participate due to ongoing border disputes that have disrupted sporting and administrative activities. The ACB, however, maintained that it looked forward to “future cricketing cooperation” once conditions stabilise.

PCB officials reiterated their commitment to maintaining sportsmanship and regional cricket ties, describing the tri-series as an important opportunity to strengthen cricket diplomacy and promote competitive play in the region.

“Pakistan remains dedicated to hosting international cricket and ensuring the continuity of the sport despite regional challenges,” a PCB source said.

False Propaganda About Afghan Cricketers’ Deaths

Meanwhile, sources revealed that Pakistan carried out a highly precise operation in Paktika targeting only the hideouts of Al-khawarij (foreign militants) involved in terrorist attacks in Waziristan. No civilians or cricketers were harmed. The claim of an attack on the cricket team is part of an Afghan Taliban propaganda campaign aimed at protecting the foreign militants. Pakistan acted with responsibility and precision.

Here are the Alkhawarij commanders who were eliminated in Paktika: Commander Farman (@Alkaramah), Commander Sadiqullah Dawood, Commander Ghazi Mada Khel, Commander Muqarrab, Commander Qismatullah, Commander Gulab (@Deewana), Commander Rahmani, Commander Adil, Commander Fazl-ur-Rahman (uncle of foreign Gul Bahadur), Commander Ashiqullah (@Kausar), and Commander Younus. Now, the Afghan Taliban and foreign militants themselves can decide who among them played the role of opener, who was in the middle order, and who were the all-rounders.
