NANJING, China: Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, expressed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to enhancing cooperation with member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in the realm of media.
Addressing participants at the SCO Television Festival, Minister Murtaza Solangi underscored the significance of cooperation in radio, television, and other audio-visual domains among SCO member states as a testament to the organization’s success.
He emphasized the importance of collaboration in both mainstream and social media to facilitate effective communication at the public level.
In an effort to foster cultural bonds, Minister Solangi proposed that media organizations from SCO member nations expand their connections through joint publication projects and documentaries.
Highlighting the longstanding and unique Pakistan-China friendship, Minister Solangi referred to the two countries as “iron brothers.” He stressed the centuries-old cultural ties between Pakistan and China, which have been further reinforced by the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of CPEC, symbolizing a historic economic collaboration between the neighboring nations.
Minister Solangi announced that 2023 has been declared the year of tourism exchange between China and Pakistan. The objective is to facilitate public-level exchanges and create a vibrant tourism and cultural ecosystem for the mutual benefit of both countries’ populations.
He emphasized that the SCO serves as a valuable and promising platform for member countries to foster comprehensive and sustainable cooperation in social, economic, communication, media, and cultural spheres.
Minister Solangi extended an invitation to media organizations from SCO member states to engage in various projects, including joint productions. He noted that sharing experiences and advanced technologies can be mutually beneficial.
He concluded by stating that joint production projects would play a pivotal role in promoting the culture and tourism of SCO countries.
