Pakistan Security Forces Thwart Sugar Smuggling Attempt to Afghanistan

QUETTA: Pakistani authorities said on Monday that they had foiled an attempt to smuggle sugar to Afghanistan.

The raid was carried out by the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan (South) in Killi Gharibabad, Nok Kundi, where a large cache of illegally stored sugar was discovered in a warehouse.

During the raid, Authorities discovered a substantial cache of illegally stored sugar weighing around 70 tons, totaling 1,368 bags.

The market value of the seized sugar is estimated at 10 million rupees. Post-operation, the warehouse involved was sealed, and an FIR was lodged against the smugglers.

Customs officials have taken custody of both the confiscated sugar and the individuals involved for further legal proceedings.

This action underscores ongoing efforts to combat cross-border smuggling and safeguard Pakistan’s economic interests.
