PESHAWAR: Pakistan Security Forces repulsed three terrorist attacks on different locations in the Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the early hours of Friday. The attacks took place within a short span of time and were met with gallant resistance from the security forces, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in a press release.
According to the details provided by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a motorcycle-borne suicide bomber targeted a security forces post in the Lakki Marwat district. Following the attack, a fierce exchange of fire took place between the terrorists and the security forces. The security forces effectively engaged the terrorists, resulting in the elimination of four terrorists.
In two other encounters that took place in the general area of Amir Kalam and Tajbi Khel, three more terrorists were eliminated, including terrorist commander Musa Khan. The security forces also recovered ammunition and weapons from the seven killed terrorists.
However, the intense exchange of fire also resulted in the martyrdom of three brave soldiers of the Pakistan Army. Naib Subedar Taj Mir (40), Havaldar Zakir Ahmed (38), and Sepoy Abid Hussain (29) fought gallantly and embraced martyrdom.
Sanitization operation in Lakki Marwat
The security forces have launched a sanitization operation in the area to eliminate any other terrorists found. Pakistan Security Forces have reiterated their determination to eliminate the menace of terrorism and maintained that such sacrifices of their brave soldiers further strengthen their resolve.
The Lakki Marwat district, located in the southern part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has been the target of terrorist attacks in the past. The district shares a border with the North Waziristan tribal district.
The Pakistan Army has been carrying out operations against terrorists in the tribal districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which have resulted in the elimination of a large number of militants. The security forces are determined to eradicate terrorism from the region.
The sacrifices of Naib Subedar Taj Mir, Havaldar Zakir Ahmed, and Sepoy Abid Hussain are a testament to the bravery and dedication of the Pakistan Security Forces in their fight against terrorism.
