RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces have killed seven ‘Indian backed’ terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military’s media wing stated on Monday.
“On 15 December 2025, Security Forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the general area Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan District, on the reported presence of khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy, Fitna al Khwarij,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The term Fitna al-Khawarij is used by Pakistan’s government and military to refer to the banned terrorist groups, most prominently the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist group. TTP is based in Afghanistan and is involved in cross-border terrorist attacks inside Pakistan.
“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location, and after an intense fire exchange, seven khwarij were sent to hell,” ISPR said.
According to the statement, during an exchange of fire, Naik Yasir Khan of the Pakistan Army (34 years), having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced martyrdom.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from Indian sponsored killed khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
The statement said that security forces and law enforcement agencies are conducting clearance operations to eliminate any Indian-backed terrorists present in the area.
It added that under the approval of the Federal Apex Committee for the National Action Plan, the campaign to eliminate terrorism will continue with full intensity in line with the ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ vision.

Pakistan accuses the Afghan Taliban of allowing the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to operate freely from Afghan territory. Officials say the TTP has become fully operational across the border, posing a serious threat to Pakistan’s internal security.
The group has long used Afghanistan as a sanctuary, but its freedom has expanded significantly since the Taliban takeover on August 15, 2021.
TTP fighters and their families are now based in eastern provinces such as Khost, Paktika, Paktia, and Kunar — areas that have become staging grounds for attacks inside Pakistan.
