ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces have killed 12 terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy group “Fitna al Hindustan” during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Kalat District of southwestern Balochistan, the military’s media wing said on Friday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted on Wednesday following reports about the presence of terrorists affiliated with the Indian proxy in the district.

“During the conduct of operation, terrorists’ hideout was identified, monitored and busted through prompt surgical action by own forces,” the ISPR said, adding that all 12 “Indian-sponsored terrorists” were killed.

The security forces also destroyed a cache of ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) found at the hideout, according to the statement.

Following the operation, sanitisation operations are being conducted in the area to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists who may still be present there, the ISPR said.

The latest operation comes as security forces and law-enforcement agencies continue counter-terrorism operations across the country under the government’s vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam.”

The ISPR said the counter-terrorism campaign was being pursued under the vision approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
