Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Reaffirm Resolve to Enhance Defence Ties

ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to deepen engagements between the Armed Forces of both countries and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen defence and security ties, a military statement said on Monday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Fayyadh Bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, Chief of General Staff, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, called on General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi.

“During the meeting, both sides discussed the evolving global and regional security environment,” it said.

The statement further said the dignitaries also explored concrete measures to deepen engagements between the Armed Forces of both countries and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening defence and security ties.

General Sahir Shamshad Mirza reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and ensuring the protection of Harmain al-Sharifain.

The Saudi commander praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.

General Fayyadh Bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili also commended the invaluable contributions of the CJCSC in strengthening and deepening the Pakistan–KSA strategic relationship.

Earlier, upon arrival at Joint Staff Headquarters, a smartly turned-out tri-services contingent presented ‘Guard of Honour’ to the visiting dignitary.
