Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Friendship Continues to Foster Positive Impacts: Dr. Naif

ISLAMABAD: The friendship agreement signed between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in November 1951 continued to yield positive and evolving impacts on both countries in a testament to enduring brotherhood.

On the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of this significant milestone in the diplomatic ties between two fraternal countries, Saudi Press Attaché in Pakistan Dr. Naif Al-Otaibi shared the momentous development on his social media account on ‘X’.

He said this historic deal, inked by the then Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Abdulaziz and Pakistani Plenipotentiary Minister Abdul Sattar Sait, laid the foundation for a lasting and robust alliance.

Moreover, he said in an interview that the agreement laid the groundwork for a deep and enduring friendship that had stood the test of time. Since its inception, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have enjoyed a relationship characterized by mutual respect, cooperation, and common values.

He said that the positive impacts of this longstanding friendship were especially evident in the economic realm as both nations had engaged in fruitful collaborations, with Saudi Arabia emerging as a key investor in different sectors of Pakistan’s economy.

Pakistan-Saudi Arabia Economic, Security Cooperation

Dr. Naif Al-Otaibi said that the inking of numerous economic deals and the establishment of joint ventures had further strengthened economic relations, contributing to the prosperity of both countries.

He said the strategic dimension of this friendship had also played a key role in maintaining regional stability.

The diplomat said collaborations in security and defense had been paramount, with joint military drills and the exchange of expertise enhancing the capabilities of both countries.

He said this cooperation had not only ensured the security of each nation but had also contributed to broader efforts aimed at fostering peace and stability in the region.
