ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan in Jeddah and discussed the “grave humanitarian situation” in the war-hit Gaza Strip.
“Pleased to meet my brother, His Highness Faisal Bin Farhan, FM of Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the OIC CFM emergency session in Jeddah on Palestine today,” Ishaq Dar said in a post on X.
“We discussed the grave humanitarian situation in Gaza, including the ongoing genocide, famine & the urgent need for a permanent ceasefire, unhindered humanitarian access, reconstruction, and lasting peace,” he said.

“We also reviewed our brotherly bilateral ties in diverse areas and exchanged views on key regional & international developments of mutual interest,” he further said.
Earlier today, Ishaq Dar arrived in Saudi Arabia to participate in the 21st Extraordinary Session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM).
According to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Ishaq Dar was received at the King Abdulaziz International Airport, Jeddah, by the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to OIC, Ambassador Fawad Sher, Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, Ahmad Farooq, and Consul General of Pakistan in Jeddah, Khalid Majid.

OIC Extraordinary meeting
According to the Foreign Office, the extraordinary session will deliberate on the ongoing Israeli aggression, including the plan for full military control over Gaza and the widespread human rights violations committed against Palestinians.
The meeting aims to adopt a joint action plan among OIC member states to address the crisis and call for urgent humanitarian assistance for the people of Gaza.
