ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday said that the Pakistan-Saudi Arabia agreements will stand as a lasting testament to the strong and fraternal ties between the two countries.

Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad for the signing of various agreements, Dar praised the reconstruction and rehabilitation projects initiated by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) in Pakistan.

He expressed deep gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its support in concluding the IMF program and aiding reconstruction efforts following the devastating floods of 2022.

Dar said that Saudi Arabia’s support will enhance Pakistan’s ability to recover and rehabilitate after national disasters.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Tuesday that Pakistan will sign agreements worth over $2 billion with an incoming Saudi delegation later this week. He said that his government will not allow the opposition to derail the country’s economic progress.

Saudi Arabia’s Investment Minister, Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, is set to visit Pakistan from October 9-11 with a high-level delegation, confirmed by Pakistan’s foreign office. This visit aims to enhance economic cooperation ahead of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Islamabad on October 15-16.
