Pakistan, Russia to Boost Cooperation in Diverse Fields

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Caretaker Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi on Monday highlighted the need for boosting cooperation with Russia in different fields, including media, films, drama, joint productions, and training programs.

Solangi, in a meeting with Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Danila Ganich, said that a formal invitation would be extended to his Russian counterpart for a trip to Pakistan.

During the meeting, bilateral cooperation in diverse fields, including media and the modalities regarding the Russian information minister’s trip to Pakistan, were also discussed.

Possible inking of agreements between APP and TAAS News Agency, PTV and Russian Television and Russian Radio and Radio Pakistan during the trip of the Russian Minister also came under discussion.

Both Solangi and the Russian envoy expressed the commitment of the two nations to strengthen ties in different fields, including economy, education, security, culture, and tourism.

Solangi said that Pakistan valued its ties with Russia and it was desirous to expand cooperation with Moscow in the fields of media, films, and drama, the minister said.

They also discussed issues pertaining to organizing a ceremony in Islamabad on the completion of 75 years of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and Russia.

Pakistan-Russia ties

Solangi said both nations enjoyed long-standing relations, and the business community and people of Pakistan were keen to strengthen the bilateral ties and find ways to achieve common goals.

Murtaza Solangi expressed hope that Pakstan-Russia ties will continue to grow towards a bright future with the changing global scenario.

The Russian envoy said Pakistan and Russia were cooperating with each other in every walk of life, including the media sector.

He said that Russia wanted to cooperate with Pakistan in other spheres of life besides media.

He added that Pakistani television dramas were very popular in Russia.
