ISLAMABAD: The Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Danila V. Ganich, held a meeting with Pakistan’ Commerce Minister, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, in Islamabad on Thursday.
During the meeting, they discussed enhancement of bilateral trade relations between Moscow and Islamabad.
Both sides reiterated their commitment to advancing stronger cooperation with the aim of boosting the volume of bilateral trade. Commitment from the both sides reflects the shared interest in strengthening the enduring friendship and economic partnership between two countries.
Volume of Pakistan-Russia Bilateral Trade
The total trade between Pakistan and Russia in the fiscal year of 2022-23 amounted to $920 million. During this period, Pakistan’s exports to Russia reached $74 million, while imports from Russia totaled $846 million.

Pakistan’s exports to Russia include a diverse range of products, including citrus fruit, leather apparel, home textiles, woven cotton fabrics, potatoes, ready-made garments, surgical and medical apparatus, woven fabric of synthetic staple fiber, and salt, among others. Whereas, key imports from Russia to Pakistan consist of wheat and meslin, bituminous coal, dried leguminous vegetables, and similar solid fuels manufactured from coal.
Pakistan’s Minister welcomed the positive developments in bilateral trade relations and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to create an environment conducive for strong economic ties. The meeting marks another step towards realizing the full potential of trade ties between Pakistan and Russia.
