Pakistan, Russia Agree to Strengthen Cooperation in Diverse Sectors

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Russia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and parliamentary engagement.

The pledge was made during a meeting between Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alexander Babakov, held on the sidelines of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference in Islamabad on Tuesday, Radio Pakistan reported.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of Pakistan-Russia relations, while Alexander Babakov highlighted Russia’s strong commitment to further strengthening ties with Pakistan.

He appreciated Pakistan’s balanced, pragmatic, and responsible approach toward regional and global issues.

Meanwhile, in a meeting with the Deputy President of the Malaysian Senate, Datuk Nur Jazlan bin Tan Sri Mohamed, the Speaker of the National Assembly highlighted that Pakistan and Malaysia share cordial and longstanding relations built on mutual trust, respect, and common values.

Datuk Nur Jazlan praised Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s address at the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference, noting that it effectively showcased Pakistan’s commitment to democracy and its dedication to regional peace and stability.
