ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a firm statement on Sunday dismissing alleged remarks made by the Indian External Affairs Minister, describing them as “highly inflammatory, baseless and irresponsible.”
The spokesperson, Tahir Hussain Andrabi, stressed that Pakistan’s institutions, including the armed forces, remain pillars of national security dedicated to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Andrabi cited the May 2025 conflict as evidence of the armed forces’ professionalism and resolve, highlighting that Pakistan successfully defended itself against any aggression. He added that attempts by Indian leadership to discredit Pakistan’s institutions are part of a propaganda campaign aimed at diverting attention from destabilising actions in the region and state-sponsored terrorism within Pakistan.
The spokesperson also criticised India’s internal political climate, pointing to the rise of extremist ideologies that, according to Pakistan, have led to mob violence, arbitrary detentions, and attacks on places of worship. “Pakistan believes in coexistence, dialogue and diplomacy,” Andrabi stated. “However, it remains united and resolute in its intention and ability to protect its interests and sovereignty.”
The Foreign Office, once again, urged India to refrain from making misleading comments about Pakistan’s armed forces and to focus on addressing domestic challenges.
