ISLAMABAD: Hina Rabbani Khar, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, has reaffirmed Pakistan’s support and strong commitment to the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping and peace-building missions.

Addressing an event on the UN Peacekeepers Day here in Islamabad on Tuesday, she said that Pakistan firmly believed in stability, peace, development, and human rights, which are all interlinked.

She said that Pakistan valued the sacrifices offered by the UN peacekeepers from across the world, particularly from Pakistan.

Lauding the peacekeepers, especially those who laid their lives in missions, Khar said nearly 170 Pakistani peacekeepers, eight alone in 2022, had laid their lives for world peace and to uphold the Blue Flag.
