ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has announced 20 percent discount on the new train service set to run between Karachi and Lahore from May 1 (Monday) but just for the first 15 days.
Pakistan Railways in a statement said that 20 percent discount has been approved on the tickets on Shalimar Express from 1st to 15th May. Furthermore, a 10 percent discount can be availed on tickets for May 16-31.
According to the Railways, the Shalimar Express will resume operations from Lahore to Karachi on May 1, en route Sahiwal instead of Faisalabad. Previously, the Shalimar Express used to run between Karachi and Lahore via Hyderabad, Nawabshah, Rohri, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Multan, Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad, and Lahore. This time, the train will run via Sahiwal.
The passengers will get a discount up to 20% on all classes of the Shalimar Express from start to mid-May (1-15 May), while a 10% discount will be given to the passengers travelling from May 15 to 30 on Shalimar Express. All trains will depart at the same time, 4am.
