Pakistan, Qatar Vow to Strengthen Cooperation Across Diverse Fields

ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan and Qatar have expressed their shared commitment to further stratagem their cooperation across diverse fields.

The commitment was expressed during a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Amir of Qatar Sheikh Thamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the sidelines of the Gaza Peace Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, on Monday, Radio Pakistan reported.

During their meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Amir of Qatar reaffirmed the strong and historic bilateral ties between Pakistan and Qatar.

The Prime Minister expressed heartfelt appreciation for the Amir’s steadfast leadership, diplomacy, and cooperation with fellow brotherly nations, which played a pivotal role in the signing of the historic peace agreement at Sharm El-Sheikh earlier today.

He also praised Qatar’s consistent and dedicated efforts in pursuing a just and lasting resolution to the crisis in Gaza.

While welcoming the Gaza peace agreement, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding support for the establishment of an independent and viable Palestinian state, based on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

He further reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued commitment to providing humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people.

The Amir of Qatar thanked the Prime Minister for Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity and principled stance on the Palestinian issue. He expressed hope that sustained international attention and engagement would lead to lasting peace and stability in the region.

Both leaders agreed to remain closely engaged on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
