ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday recalling the long-standing and fraternal relations between Pakistan and Qatar, highlighted the significance of translating this friendship into firm economic partnership.

The Prime Minister expressed these remarks during a meeting with the ambassador of the State of Qatar in Pakistan, Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman in Islamabad. On the occasion, the envoy also shared a special goodwill message from the Amir of Qatar with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated Qatar on hosting the most successful event of FIFA World Cup in history. He also noted with appreciation the significant role played by Pakistani security forces in ensuring foolproof and impeccable security at the mega event.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Islamabad and Doha should further enhance cooperation on trade, investment, manpower, and energy sectors. Qatar is home to one of the large Pakistani diasporas in the Arab world. Pakistan and Qatar closely collaborate bilaterally, as well as on global and regional matters of mutual interest.
