ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the Pakistani government’s firm determination to eradicate terrorism from the country, following a series of recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan and other regions.

During a Federal Cabinet meeting in Islamabad, Sharif strongly condemned the attacks, which have resulted in significant loss of life, including among security forces personnel.

Sharif emphasized the government’s resolve and the sacrifices made by both the Pakistani people and the Armed Forces in the ongoing fight against terrorism. He assured that these sacrifices would not be in vain, stating that all available resources would be allocated to the military to bolster their efforts against terrorist groups.

The Prime Minister made it clear that while the government is open to dialogue with those who respect Pakistan and its constitution, there will be no negotiations with terrorists or enemies of the state. He pointed out that the recent wave of violence, particularly in Balochistan, has been orchestrated by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) operating from Afghanistan. The Pakistani government has already raised this issue with the Afghan authorities and taken effective measures against these threats.

Sharif highlighted that the terrorist activities are intended to create instability and disrupt Pakistan’s development efforts, including major projects like the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Balochistan. He emphasized that such acts are designed to hinder national progress and undermine the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and China.

To address the situation, Sharif announced plans to visit Balochistan for a detailed assessment and to implement immediate measures. The Cabinet also observed a moment of silence to honor the victims of recent terrorist incidents and the late Rana Afzaal, brother of Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain.

This reaffirmation of commitment underscores Pakistan’s ongoing struggle against terrorism and its focus on national unity and development amidst continuing security challenges.
