ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Wednesday, lauded Saudi Arabia’s efforts for peace in the Middle East and the kingdom’s role in the ceasefire understanding between Pakistan and India.
Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al Malki called on Prime Minister Sharif in Islamabad, according to Radio Pakistan.
Premier Sharif recalled his telephone conversation with Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman on 24 June.
The prime minister conveyed his regards to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as well as to Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the state broadcaster reported.
UNSC presidency
Sharif said that Pakistan had assumed the rotating Presidency of the UN Security Council for the month of July, and would count on Saudi Arabia’s support to ensure that its tenure was conducted smoothly and successfully.
Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al Malki thanked the prime minister for Pakistan’s role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
