ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has invited Bahraini investors to explore business opportunities in Pakistan’s priority sectors, including food security, information technology, and tourism.

He made the remarks during a meeting Bahraini Ambassador Mohamed Ebrahim Mohamed Abdul Qader in Islamabad on Thursday, state media reported.

Highlighting the importance of economic cooperation, President Zardari emphasised Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening trade and investment ties with Bahrain and welcomed efforts to enhance bilateral economic relations.

The President also expressed appreciation for the Pakistani community in Bahrain, recognising their contributions to Bahrain’s economy and their role in supporting Pakistan through remittances. He thanked Bahrain for the respect and opportunities extended to over 100,000 Pakistanis.

President Zardari underscored Pakistan’s close and fraternal relations with Bahrain, rooted in shared religion, culture, and history. Referring to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to the Kingdom, he noted that the warm reception and gracious hospitality reflected the depth of ties between the two brotherly countries.

Recalling the invitation extended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to Bahraini leadership—including the King, Crown Prince, and Deputy Crown Prince—President Zardari said Pakistan looks forward to hosting them and appreciated the King of Bahrain’s acceptance of the invitation.

The President also congratulated Bahrain on its election to the United Nations Security Council for the 2026–2027 term and thanked the Kingdom for its solidarity and support following recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan.
