Pakistan President Felicitates Putin on His re-election

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has conveyed his heartiest felicitations to Russian President Vladimir Putin on his victory in the Presidential polls.  In a statement via social media, President Asif Ali Zardari said, “I am confident that ties between Islamabad and Moscow will grow further under your dynamic leadership,”.

Earlier, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated Putin on his re-election. On his X account Shehbaz Sharif stated that he looked forward to working with President Putin to further strengthen Pak-Russia ties.

Other countries, including China, Venezuela, North Korea, and Myanmar also congratulated Putin on his record win. Putin’s victory sets him on course to become Russia’s longest-serving president in over two centuries.

Meanwhile, Russia’s election commission hailed “record” results for President Putin on Monday, securing him a fifth term in office in the elections. The Russian Election Commission chief Ella Pamfilova had announced that “almost 76 million people” voted for the Russian leader, marking a record figure.

In his victory speech, President Putin vowed to resist external pressure and declared unity in the face of Western opposition.
