ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has conferred the Nishan-i-Imtiaz military award, one of the top honours in Pakistan, on Commander of the Ground Forces of the People’s Liberation Army of China General Li Qiaoming in recognition of his outstanding services and crucial role in strengthening defence relations between the two countries.
Senior military officials as well as members of parliament were present at the ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.
During the ceremony, the citation praised General Li Qiaoming’s four-decade-long career, highlighting his significant contributions to the Chinese military. His intellectual acumen, administrative expertise, and dedication have established him as a distinguished and capable officer, instrumental in promoting peace and stability both within China and internationally.
General Li is celebrated for his professionalism and skills in upholding peace and stability around China. His steadfast commitment to enhancing Pak-China military ties has earned him the prestigious Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military), reflecting the deep appreciation of Pakistan for his invaluable contributions.
