Pakistan President Assures Mahmoud Abbas Strong Support for Palestine Cause

ISLAMABAD:  President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi during a telephonic conversation with President of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas on Friday assured him Pakistan’s continued support for Palestinian cause in accordance with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.

The president expressed his sympathies and grief on behalf of the people and the government of Pakistan over the brutalities being committed by Israel against the people of Palestine.

He described the situation in Gaza, very painful saying that the entire Pakistani nation was deeply saddened by the atrocities and reign of terror unleashed by the Israeli security forces.

He strongly denounced the lethal bombing by Israel which even did not spare schools and hospitals.

President Alvi noted that Israeli barbaric actions, resulted in killing of thousands of Palestinians, including women and children, healthcare workers, journalists and UN aid workers.

He said the current situation in Gaza was the reaction of decades of apartheid and unjust policies of Israel. He accused Israel of ethnic cleansing against the Muslims and pushing them out of their territories.

President regrets lack of international action on Gaza

President Alvi regretted the international community failed to take any action to stop Israel from its murderous campaign against the people of Gaza.

He called upon the international community to make efforts for urgent ceasefire, opening of an uninterrupted humanitarian corridor to Gaza, stopping further displacement of the Palestinians from their homeland and permanent solution to the Palestine cause according to the UNSC resolutions.

Palestinian President Mehmood Abbas said that Israel was carrying out genocide in Gaza. He stressed for stopping Israel from fighting across the Palestinian territory.

He also demanded opening of a corridor to Gaza to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid as there was no food, electricity and medicine available for the people of Gaza.

President Mahmoud Abbas thanked Pakistan for supporting the Palestinian cause and sending humanitarian aid.
