ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Dr. Arif Alvi on Thursday approved the appointment of three judges including Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan as judges of the Supreme Court.
The President also approved the appointment of Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmed Khan as Chief Justice of Lahore High Court. Justice Malik Shehzad is the senior most judge of the Lahore High Court.
Arif Alvi approved Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan appointment in the apex court under Article 175 A of the Constitution.
Furthermore, the President approved the designation of the most senior judge, Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar, as the Acting Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, in compliance with Article 196 of the Constitution.
