PESHAWAR: Police foiled a terrorist attack on Pir Tangi police check post in the jurisdiction of Police Station Jandola in Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan on late Sunday night, local media reported.

Media reports suggests that an exchange of fire between the police personnel and terrorists continued for 10 minutes following which terrorists fled from the site. Local people also came out to support the police in the area.
Local media said that police suffered no casualty during the clash with terrorists.

Meanwhile, Inspector General (IG) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police held telephonic conversation to the police men and lauded them for their bravery.
The IG police said that there is a red alert in the KP following the Peshawar Mosque blast in which 84 people including police and civilians were martyred.
