ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti, in a press conference on Monday, said that 11 suspects in the double murder case have been arrested by the police.
The provincial chief minister assured that the State stands with the innocent and the oppressed.
“Whoever is found involve in the murder of the innocent will be given exemplary punishment,” he said.
No one has the right to kill anyone, Bugti added.
He told the media that two persons killed were not married as reported earlier in a section of media.
The chief minister informed that the man killed has 5, 6 children. Similarly, the woman killed also has five children, he further informed.
Meanwhile, a police report seen by AFP identifies the woman as Bano Bibi and the man as Ehsan Ullah, and says they were killed last month in Margat, near Quetta in Balochistan.
In a video circulating on social media, more than a dozen men are seen gathered in a remote, mountainous desert area, with SUVs and pickup trucks parked nearby, where the shooting of the man and the woman took place.
“We have arrested over a dozen men for their involvement in the incident,” a senior police official told AFP on condition of anonymity.
Earlier, the provincial Balochistan government registered a case under terrorism charges, and the chief minister of the province described the incident as “heinous”.
