ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called on all parties involved in the recent tensions in the Middle East to exercise restraint and pursue peaceful solutions.
In a message on X, Prime Minister Sharif said renewed violence highlights risks tied to a fragile ceasefire.
The prime minister said that diplomatic efforts, in coordination with international partners, are continuing to secure a peaceful resolution.
“As we work earnestly and painstakingly, together with our brothers and partners, to find a peaceful diplomatic solution to the conflict, and especially when the final objective is just about to be achieved, we sincerely urge all sides to exercise restraint and give peace a little more chance,” he said.
He emphasised that progress toward a final settlement is within reach and warned against any actions that could undermine those efforts.
Prime Minister Sharif urged all parties to remain committed to dialogue, restraint, and diplomacy.

“The recent surge in violence in the Middle East is a stark reminder of the dangers associated with a tenuous ceasefire and the unbearable consequences it may lead to,” he said.
“Let us continue to remain on the path of peace and diplomacy, which have bright prospects of success instead of violence and destruction,” he added.
Earlier, Iran announced that it was suspending military operations against Israel, while Israeli media reported that Israel had halted strikes on Iran at the request of US President Donald Trump after the US President said both sides were “looking to do an immediate ceasefire”.
The development came after Iran and Israel exchanged fresh attacks on Monday that threatened the ceasefire reached on April 8.
The announcement came as US President Donald Trump said both countries were seeking an immediate ceasefire and moving towards a broader peace agreement. Israeli media reported that Israel had agreed to halt attacks on Iran at Washington’s request.
Trump demanded Iran and Israel “immediately stop shooting.” He also said they were “looking to do an immediate ceasefire,” and that “final negotiations on ‘peace’ are proceeding, subject to ignorance or stupidity getting in its way.”
