Pakistan PM Stresses Unity to Address Challenges

ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for national solidarity, unity and harmony in order to overcome the challenges facing the nation. Addressing Ulema and Mashaikh Conference in Islamabad on Thursday, he pointed out there is an unprecedented cooperation between the constitutional institutions and political government, emphasizing this collaboration are in the national interests and a role model for the future. The PM urged the religious scholars belonging to different schools of thought to preach the message of peace and brotherhood and raise voice against divisiveness, Radio Pakistan reported.

Referring to the sacrifices rendered by the people under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah for the creation of Pakistan, the PM emphasized the need for working tirelessly to transform the nation into the one envisioned by our forefathers.

Shehbaz Sharif regretted the propaganda drive against the country’s security forces on the social media. He stated that the security personnel have rendered immense sacrifices for the security and defense of Pakistan.  He stated that May 9 incident was the most despicable one in the nation’s history.

PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that the government is working tirelessly in order to address the economic issues and challenges.  Recognizing the problems faced by the citizens due to the inflation, he said fifty billion rupees have been diverted from the development fund to the provision of subsidy for 90 days to the electricity consumers who use up to two hundred units. The PM agreed that this is not sufficient as there is also burden on the consumers using up to 500 units. He stated consultations are taking place to provide relief and reduce burden on the poor masses. He stated a comprehensive plan is being worked out in this connection.
