Pakistan: PM Shehbaz Sharif to Inaugurate K3 Nuclear Plant in Karachi on Thursday

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that he would inaugurate on Thursday the K3 nuclear plant built in Karachi with the cooperation of China.

The prime minister received a delegation from China National Nuclear Corporation on Wednesday. He discussed energy matters with the members of the visiting delegation.

The K3 power plant will produce 2,200 megawatts of electricity, a statement issued from the PM House said.

Talking to the delegation, the premier said China is a close friend of Pakistan, which always supported it through thick and thin.

He said the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China was exemplary, and Pakistan is keen to further consolidate that relationship.

PM Shehbaz Sharif hails CPEC

PM Shehbaz Sharif said that billions of dollars of investments under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a manifestation of the love and affection of Chinese government and people for Pakistan.

He said that CPEC had helped Pakistan overcome the electricity shortage, for which the whole Pakistani nation was thankful to China.
