ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday hosted a special luncheon at the PM’s House in honour of the cricket teams of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe, who are participating in the ongoing Tri-Nation Series.
Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister said the regular hosting of international cricket events in Pakistan reflects the country’s positive image, peace, and growing stability.
He praised the passion, skill, and professionalism displayed by all three teams, noting that their performance and sportsmanship were setting an inspiring example for the youth.

Shehbaz Sharif urged the players to continue demonstrating mutual respect and high moral standards throughout the series.
The gathering was attended by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, as well as the Sri Lankan and Zimbabwean High Commissioners.
The prime minister lauded PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi for successfully organizing the series with “excellent arrangements, effective strategy, and professional standards.”
He said the Tri-Nation Series was offering fans high-quality cricket and strengthening people-to-people ties.
Expressing optimism, Shehbaz Sharif said cricket would continue to deepen friendship and cooperation among the three nations.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to welcoming international teams regularly in the future.
