ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said the government is committed to making life more affordable for its people amid global challenges including inflation and economic uncertainty.
He expressed commitment to continue cooperating with international partners with an emphasis on inclusive growth, healthcare, education, and environmental sustainability.
In a message on the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty on Thursday he said that eliminating poverty is not just a moral duty but a fundamental cornerstone to achieving sustainable development and ensuring peace and prosperity for everyone.
The Prime Minister said that the government’s targeted efforts to empower communities, particularly women and children, and give them the tools they need to build a better future.
Shehbaz Sharif said that the government’s measures such as the PM Youth Business, Agriculture Loans, Digi-Skills – free IT training and the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund are transforming lives by offering financial assistance and technical support to millions of families.
He added that poverty eradication is also at the forefront of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals which Pakistan remains fully committed to achieving.
He reaffirmed his unwavering dedication to the eradication of poverty and invited all sectors to build a more equitable, prosperous, and inclusive society.
