ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani have pledged to enhance close cooperation to advance peace and stability in the region.
The commitment was expressed during a telephone conversation between PM Sharif and the Qatari Amir on Tuesday, the PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Sharif praised Qatar’s diplomatic efforts to foster peace and reconciliation in the Middle East and other parts of the world.
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Qatar.
They also exchanged views on key regional and global developments and pledged to continue close cooperation in advancing peace, stability, and shared prosperity in the region and beyond.
“During their warm and cordial conversation, the two leaders extended heartiest felicitations to each other on the blessed occasion of the Holy month of Ramadan and prayed for peace and tranquillity of the Ummah,” the PM Office Media Wing said.
According to the statement, the Prime Minister expressed profound appreciation for Qatar’s diplomatic initiatives, led under the patronage of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad, aimed at advancing peace and reconciliation in the Middle East and across the globe.
Separately, the PM on his X account, said “Had a most warm and cordial telephone conversation this afternoon with my dear brother HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar. We exchanged felicitations on the blessed occasion of holy Ramadan and prayed for peace, unity, and tranquillity of the Ummah.”

“I also conveyed my deep appreciation for Qatar’s diplomatic efforts under His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s sagacious leadership to advance peace and reconciliation in the Middle East and beyond,” he added.
Pakistan shares cordial ties with Qatar, rooted in economic cooperation, defence, shared values, faith and culture. Qatar hosts a large Pakistani workforce.
