Pakistan PM, Palestinian President Call for Global Collaboration to Prevent Israel from Bloodshed

RIYADH: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar and President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas met Friday underscoring the need for global collaboration to prevent Israel from further bloodshed.

They are attending the Extraordinary Islamic Summit convened to discuss the terrible situation in occupied Palestine resulting from the aggression of the Israeli occupation troops both in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister conveying constant solidarity of Pakistan with the people of Palestine, strongly condemned the indiscriminate use of force by Israeli occupation troops and bombing of refugee camps, hospitals, schools and residential buildings, resulting in the loss of over ten thousand precious lives and forced displacement of Palestinians.

President Abbas lauded Pakistan’s expression of solidarity in this tough time and its principled position on the right of self-determination of the people of Palestine.

The two sides emphasized the urgency of an unconditional truce, end to the siege of the Gaza Strip and smooth delivery of humanitarian aid, and medical help to the affected people.

Pakistan’s PM and President Abbas also noted the timeliness of the Extraordinary Islamic Summit and asked the international community, especially the UN and its pertinent organizations, to take resolute steps to uphold principles of justice and humanity and stop the killing of the people of Palestine.

He highlighted Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to a fair and enduring resolution of the Palestinian- Israeli conflict, founded on the two-state solution, leading to the establishment of a viable, and sovereign Palestinian state with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital city, along borders that existed prior to 1967 preserved in several OIC resolutions.
