ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, has stressed the importance of maximizing the utilization of the abundant natural resources within the country.
During a high-level meeting held in Islamabad to review the performance of the Petroleum Division, the premier emphasized the necessity of enhancing road infrastructure to facilitate access to these natural resources.
The Prime Minister issued strict directives to combat illegal mining activities and ordered the completion of all legal requirements for appointing the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) chief.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Kakar was given a comprehensive briefing on the performance of the Petroleum Division.
It was reported that in addition to exploring additional natural resources within the country, the division is actively working on programs to boost the production of oil and gas domestically. Priority is being given to pipeline projects aimed at transporting oil and gas from various reservoirs to meet energy needs.
Furthermore, the Petroleum Division is in the process of developing a Mineral Sector Development Framework to facilitate the exploration of oil and gas resources.
The meeting highlighted significant progress in attracting foreign investments to the mining sector, further promoting economic growth and resource utilization.
