Pakistan PM, Kuwaiti Crown Prince Review Regional Developments in Phone Call

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Crown Prince of Kuwait,m Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled on Wednesday, during which the two leaders discussed ongoing regional developments.

During the conversation, PM Shehbaz expressed Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the recent attacks on Kuwait, conveying deep sorrow over the loss of lives and praying for the speedy recovery of the injured, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.

He underscored Pakistan’s solidarity and support with the brotherly people of Kuwait.

Highlighting the broader regional context, the Prime Minister called on all countries involved in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East to resolve differences through dialogue and diplomacy and work collectively to maintain peace.

Reaffirming the longstanding friendship between Pakistan and Kuwait, PM Shehbaz renewed his invitation to the Kuwaiti Crown Prince to visit Pakistan at his convenience. The leaders also agreed to stay in close contact on matters of mutual interest.

Both leaders exchanged greetings on the auspicious occasion of Eid ul Fitr and wished peace, prosperity, and well-being for the people of their respective countries and the Muslim Ummah.

Following a joint US-Israeli strike on Iran on February 28, Tehran launched waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Gulf states, Israel, and American assets across the region, plunging the region into one of its most serious security crises in years.

Gulf airports, including major cargo hubs in Dubai and Doha, have faced repeated closures due to Iranian strikes, disrupting trade, travel, and the flow of critical medical supplies.
