ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif hosted a dinner in Islamabad on Saturday evening to honour the visiting South African cricket team and Pakistan’s national cricket team.
The event celebrated the ongoing cricket series between the two countries, marking another milestone in sports diplomacy and fostering mutual respect through cricket.
In his address, Prime Minister Sharif warmly welcomed the South African team to Pakistan, emphasizing that this cricket series serves as a symbol of the strong sports relations and friendship between the two nations.
He highlighted the significance of cricket as more than just a sport, stating, “Cricket is not just a game but a reason to connect people across different countries.”
The Prime Minister further reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting international sports and creating a conducive environment for hosting major sporting events. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the true spirit of cricket, which promotes brotherhood and peace among nations.
“Cricket is a bridge that fosters relationships at various levels, and our bond with South Africa is a shining example of this,” said PM Sharif.
