ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly denounced Israeli actions aimed at obstructing the United Nations Relief and Works Agency’s (UNRWA) operations inside occupied Palestinian Territory, according to Radio Pakistan.

In a post on social media, he added that Israel is committing yet another blatant violation of global humanitarian law and the UN Charter by preventing critical relief help from reaching millions of helpless people of Palestine. The PM has also emphasized that Israel must be held for this by the world.

Earlier, Pakistan has reiterated its call for an unconditional and immediate truce in the Gaza Strip, and for the provision of unhindered humanitarian help to alleviate the suffering of Gazans.

In a statement, Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson stated that Islamabad unequivocally denounces the latest Israeli attempt to dismantle the operations of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

The spokesperson said that this latest measure is yet another Israeli violation of global law and the United Nations Charter. Preventing UNRWA from conducting its vital tasks is a manifestation of Israel’s systematic campaign to deny the much-needed humanitarian help to Palestinians.
