ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday felicitated Abdelmadjid Tebboune on his re-election as the President of Algeria.
In a statement via social media, the Prime Minister said that he looked forward to continue working closely with him to strengthen Pakistan-Algeria relations in all sectors especially in investment and trade.
According to the media reports citing the African country’s electoral authority ANIE, Abdelmadjid Tebboune has been re-elected for a five-year term with about 95 percent of the vote.
In the election, Abdelmadjid Tebboune defeated Abdelaali Hassani, who took 3.17 percent of the votes, and Youcef Aouchiche, who secured 2.16 percent votes.
